Zoo Med Day/Night Desert Lighting Kit

Description:

Reptiles, being ectothermic or "cold-blooded," rely on external heat sources like the sun to regulate their body temperature. This heat is essential for digestion, overall health, and proper bodily functions. Since they cannot generate their own warmth, its crucial to provide them with appropriate heating solutions such as heat lamps.

The Zoo Med Day/Night Desert Lighting Kit comes equipped with everything you need to create a suitable environment:

• Mini Combo Deep Dome Lamp Fixture for secure mounting
• Repti Basking Spot Lamp (75 w) for daytime heating
• Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp (75 w) for nighttime warmth

Despite common misconceptions, reptiles can perceive red light. For nocturnal species, additional light at night is often unnecessary as they see well in darkness, while for diurnal species, it may interfere with their sleep patterns and disrupt their natural circadian rhythm.

If nighttime temperatures drop too low for your reptile, consider swapping the Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp with a Zoo Med Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter for a light-free heat source.

To ensure optimal conditions, monitor the basking area temperature using the Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Infrared Thermometer to meet your pets specific needs.
